Multi-Family Development — Interior Architecture & Design

This 40 story residential tower on the border of Brooklyn Heights is the largest project we’ve ever done. We collaborated on the layouts with Marvel Architects, and created the interior architecture and design for the entire building—including the lobby, lounges, a screening room, and a kids’ playroom. In the dramatic, double-height lobby, we carved out intimate nooks, juxtaposing material and scale. Whether we’re working on a massive development project or a single family apartment, our approach is the same. We create a narrative of who we’re designing for, with the goal of each space feeling very custom, and very comfortable, with thoughtful and functional details to make it feel like home. Here, we followed an interesting mix of contemporary design and prewar inspiration. Defined entry foyers give way to clean, open kitchens and roomy spaces equipped for modern living.

Waterworks field tile installed in a herringbone
pattern is framed with bleached white oak.

Baltic Grey marble clads the wainscot and niche
of the primary bathroom, with polished nickel
fixtures by Watermark.

The lobby mixes dark and medium toned
Muntz metals, with limestone flooring,
and polished plaster walls.

The Gabriel Scott chandelier pairs well
with the Allied Maker Voyager sconces.

Wallpaper by Rebecca Atwood is paired
with a deck mounted faucet by Watermark.

A stone clad opening is elevated by a flush
threshold that separates the two spaces.

A custom designed MTI freestanding tub sits
on a large scale mosaic of Bianco Dolomiti,
with a white oak vanity.

The kitchen features a range from
Bluestar, and custom metal pulls.

A cozy niche in lobby features built in seats
with Maharam fabric, and Zak + Fox pillows.
