When our clients with a large family wanted a bigger, and more mature  apartment, we were happy to oblige, customizing their new space in a storied Upper West Side building to their exact requirements. Their love of entertaining meant they needed room to accommodate many guests, to continue the tradition of weekly Shabbat dinner parties. We created custom furniture to keep the parties going, including a sofa that doubles as a banquette and a concealed bar, and sourced a vintage expandable dining table. The apartments in the building were tastefully done by Robert A.M. Stern, but we found ways to make the spaces even more personal. In a previously unused entry gallery, we carved out an intimate, posh screening room in rich emerald hues (that our client was initially hesitant about, but ultimately loved). In their son’s bedroom, we transformed a photograph from a family vacation in Aspen into a custom wallpaper mural. Throughout the home, our clients’ fondness for circular shapes became a subtle motif, from walls to mirrors to light fixtures.
