There’s no better feeling than returning from a trip to a place that feels like home. That was the goal for a frequently-traveling client with a busy job in crisis management, who wanted her Chelsea apartment to evoke the same layered, rich, and cozy vibes as her favorite hotels from around the world. We began by opening up the apartment’s layout, creating relaxed, modern spaces ideal for gathering and lounging. Then, we limewashed the walls and ceilings, adding Calico wallpaper to the serene bedroom, which imbued the room with a cloud-like iridescence. The moody library, which doubles as a guest room, features a custom inlaid leather desk with storage that overlooks a cinematic skyline view. Plush fabrics, soft corners, and rounded edges throughout offer a natural sense of ease. We love that our client now has a lived-in, luxurious space to call her own.
