Studio DB was hired by the new owners to do a gut renovation and addition to a mid-century house in Hastings on Hudson.  The house, originally built in 1955, had undergone an exterior renovation in 2014 by Eva Bouhassira Architect who redesigned the windows, added the cedar cladding and front deck.  The interior was untouched and in a state disrepair.  The addition, which includes a kids wing above a new garage, is clad in concrete composite panels with cedar framed window openings.  A new entry foyer was added new glass walls and doors to create and open view through the house.  The interior of the original structure, which was divided into a series of small rooms, was opened up into larger volumes, to help expose the sweeping Hudson River views.

The house was featured in The New York Times showing finished photos of the addition and interior renovation.
